The technique is a direct derivative of making chenille fabric by "deconstruction" layered-and-stitched fabrics an washing them so they bloom into a fabric with a unique napped surface.  When you slash the layers between the rows of stitching, the step essential to the blooming process, you must take care not to slash the bottom layer of fabric.  One day it occurred to me that there were countless possibilities if you could break this rule...
