Why We Chose Habitat for Humanity
Sewforless.com/American Sewing Machine has an established relationship in place with Habitat for Humanity and has been a local supporter for years.  Because of the severity of the disaster, people will be in dire need of assistance rebuilding personal residences.  Habitat for Humanity volunteers work tirelessly creating homes for people in need every single day.

Habitat for Humanity's Mission
Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

Habitat for Humanity's Role in Rebuilding
Habitat for Humanity is assessing the damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and will work with government authorities and other organizations to determine how we can help. In the short-term, Habitat for Humanity’s response will include mobilizing volunteers in Japan to work with other organizations in the initial clean-up and relief operation.

I have an exchange daughter in Sendai, from whom I have not heard yet, but I'd like to think that the proceeds of these designs will go to helping her family rebuild their lives. Thank you!!

Dititize the picture you are using for the design CD
By Betty Jean
Dititize the Japanese picture you are using for the replacement design, and I will be even happier and broadcast the relief idea. It would be nice to be able to print the designs in the CD. Thanks, Jean

 Finally bought it!
By Jenny from SG, Outside The US
I've actually donated to Japan via the direct link thru Hublot but feel that i should donate to show support for sewforless too. The designs hmm, i can only say maybe 3-4 appeals to me. I like this idea of supporting through embroidery design but wish next time its nicer designs instead of some foot etc. It will be good if those that donated can get to use all the designs. Of course, i know all of us who helped do it for the donation not for the designs. :)
