Q: I have been told not to get magnets near my computer or computer disks. Isn’t my embroidery machine a computer? Won’t magnets damage it?

A: Extensive research has shown that the position of the magnets on the frame while embroidering does not cause any damage to computerized embroidery machines. This has been thoroughly tested with no adverse effects. The metal frame absorbs the electromagnetic pull which, while strong enough for hooping, is not strong enough to go through this field. Most home embroidery machines do not have magnetic fields in the actual embroidery module itself.

Magnets can damage magnetic computer data, therefore, use caution. Do not put them in direct contact with diskettes, and memory sticks. Some design cards are susceptible as well. To be on the safe side, watch where you put your magnets! The manufacturer of the Magna-Hoop does not take responsibility for damaged diskettes, memory sticks, design cards or other media that is damaged due to user error.

Magna Hoop - A Very Helpful Tool
By Debra from Sioux Falls, South Dakota
I purchased the Magna-Hoop mainly because it was recommended by the Sewing Center where I purchased my BabyLock Ellure Plus. Having used it on a number of items, including 2" fabric straps that were difficult to hoop without using adhesive and pins, I can say that the product will become one of my most utilized embroidery tools. It was easy to use and the video instructions were clear and easy to understand. I only gave it 4 stars because I still had to use two pins on one item to keep it from moving during the embroidery process. This may have had more to do with the thickness of the fabric and how close to the edge the embroidery had to be placed. With practice, I may improve my use of the Magna-Hoop to avoid this. I would like to see more videos with tips on its use.

 I love my Magna Hoop!
By Elaine from West Frankfort, Illinois
I love machine embroidery. I hate hooping. It's always such a pain. I recently bought the Magna Hoop and fell in love with it. Hooping is now a breeze, I am able to accomplish it very quickly. I just embroidered a t-shirt for my nephew and it was so simple. The insturctional video and written insturctions were very well written and easy to follow. As soon as I save up the money, I'll be ordering the Jumbo Magna Hoop!

I'm enjoying using my Magna Hoop
By Bonnie from Whitehouse Station, New Jersey
I have been using my Magna Hoop and love it. The Price was great, and received it very promptly. The service and ordering the product was courteous and very helpful. The special pricing with the added 1000 embroidery's and extra 50 projects, was fantastic. Hooping has been a breeze. I highly recommend this product.

 Magna-Hoop wasn't for me
By Angela from Charleston, South Carolina
I personally would rather just hoop stabilizer and use spray adhesive and pins than the magna-hoop. You have to hoop the stabilizer anyway to use it. I ended up selling mine. It just didn't work the way I expected. I also didn't think the magnets were really strong enough to hold the item in place. I had intended to use it to embroider on dog collars I made, but it just wasnt right for that. It may work for other people. I bought the software as well and it worked well. You really need it place the designs in the right spots. I still have the software and use it to do minor resizing. Once I get embird or some other software I will get rid of it too.

 SAVE YOUR MONEY!
By Elizabeth from Marana, Arizona
I bought this hoop and also found the magnets are not strong enough to hold the thinnest fabric, even without stabilizer. This was a huge waste of money and dissapointment. I'm not sure how they can still be selling these things. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it!

 Waste of money

The magnets were very weak and did not even hold pillowcase fabric securly enough. I sent them back quickly--they did not suit my needs well at all, and I am an experienced embroiderer. Do not recommend them at all.
